STC 2025 Co-Chair

PhD, FIAHSI, is Professor of Medical and Health Informatics and Quantitative Methods at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences, Germany where she serves as academic dean for digitalisation and the qualification of young scientists. Since 2010, Ursula Hübner serves in various roles for the German Association of Medical Informatics, Biometry and Epidemiology (GMDS). She is a member of the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Medical Informatics and medical informatics editor of German Medical Science – Medical Informatics, Biometry and Epidemiology. She serves as Secretary of the International Medical Informatics Association (IMIA). In 2019, she was elected Fellow of the International Academy of Health Sciences Informatics of the IMIA. In 2021, she received the “Most Influential Women in Health IT” Award from the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS).

STC 2025 Co-Chair

Prof. Dr. Jan-David Liebe is a professor specialising in Digital Society at the Faculty of Business and Social Sciences at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences, Germany. Previously, he served as a professor for Digital Health Management at the Medical School Hamburg (MSH). His research focuses on digitalisation, with a particular emphasis on human-centred implementation science and AI. He explores the role of digital technologies, such as VR and AI, in child welfare and protection, as well as their application in improving hospital IT systems. Prof. Liebe has also been actively involved with the GMDS, contributing to advancements in the management of hospital information systems. 

Nicole Egbert

Dr. Nicole Egbert is a researcher at the Research Center for Health and Social Informatics at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences, Germany. Her research focuses on health and nursing informatics education. She also coor-dinates the Graduate School Health & Social Care which aims to qualify young scientists for a professor-ship at a University of Applied Sciences.

Parisis  Gallos

Dr. Parisis Gallos is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Computational Biomedicine Laboratory (CBML), University of Piraeus, Greece. His research focuses on biomedical informatics and eHealth systems. He also serves as the Publications Officer of the European Federation for Medical Informatics (EFMI). 

Daniel Flemming

Prof. Dr. Daniel Flemming is the scientific director at atacama blooms GmbH & Co. KG, where he is involved in the development and use of artificial intelligence in the field of nursing. He is also a full professor of nursing informatics at the Katholische Stiftungshochschule München, where he teaches and conducts research in the field of digitalisation in nursing.

Romaric Marcilly

Romaric Marcilly, Ph.D., is a senior researcher at the Clinical Investigation Centre for Innovative Technologies at the Academic Hospital of Lille, France, and a member of the METRICS laboratory at the University of Lille. He holds a doctorate in public health and masters degrees in experimental psychology, occupational psychology and ergonomics. He is currently co-chair of the EFMI HOFMI working group and the IMIA HFE working group. He conducts research on usability and ergonomics applied to healthcare technologies and organisations. His research focuses on usability evaluation methods in the laboratory and in the field, with the aim of developing technologies that make the care process safer without hindering users' work or inducing user errors. 

Oscar Tamburis 

Oscar Tamburis, Researcher in Health Informatics at the National Research Council of Italy. Lecturer of Veterinary Medical Informatics at University of Naples Federico II.  Author of publi-cations on the following topics: health-related process innovation, BPM, simulation, process mining, sensors implementation, aspects of data analytics, FAIRness, One Digital Health. External expert for national and international projects. EFMI Board Member as yEFMI Officer, and Chair of the WG on One Digital Health.

Arriel Bennis 

Dr. Arriel Benis is an Associate Professor at the Holon Institute of Technology, Israel. His research interests include health informatics, decision support systems, and telemedicine. He is also the Executive Officer of the European Federation for Medical Informatics (EFMI). 



Thomas Engelsma

Dr. Thomas Engelsma is an assistant professor at the department of Medical Informatics at the Amsterdam UMC, location University of Amsterdam. His research focuses on the design and usability evaluation of digital health technologies, specifically for older adults living with dementia, embedded within the eHealth Living & Learning lab Amsterdam. He recently was appointed chair of the EFMI WG HOFMI.


Valentina Lichtner 

Dr. Valentina Lichtner is a senior lecturer in digital health and decision making at the School of Health Sciences, University of Manchester, UK. In her research, she investigates the effects of new technologies on patient safety, clinicians’ work, healthcare organizations and the wider health system.

Sidsel Villumsen 

Dr. Sidsel Villumsen is an organizational consultant in Central Denmark Region, one of five health regions in Denmark. Her focus lies on capacity building for digital transformation in healthcare.
